First Few Steps in Davao Oriental Landmark

One of the most photographed landmark of Davao Oriental, the Davao Oriental Welcome Park.
Our trip proves that indeed it is and will always be the most photographed landmark of Davao Oriental. Why? Because.....
  • It is the best place to stop after more than 2 hours drive from Davao City. It got wide and safe parking space.
  • It has a snack place to grab a quick snacks and coffee, which our family looks for in our road trips.
  • It has clean toilets available for Php 2.00 per person.
  • The place is picturesque, you can feel nature at its best. Despite the rain during our visit, we took the time to have ourselves photographed by the Davao Oriental sign.

  • It has a 500 steps shrine, which we missed to climb because we are on a hurry to reach Mati City by lunch time.

First Food Stop: Prangel's Restaurant, Digos City

After more than three hours of road trip, it calls for a much needed stop to refuel our tummy. And a much needed break for Papa, our official driver for this road trip.
Prangel's Restaurant is located along the Davao-Cotabato National Highway, a few meters from Digos City Diversion Junction. It is right across the Monastery.

It is one of the newest food stops in Digos City. First thing I've noticed, the place is so clean, which is so important for any food business. Food are reasonably price and taste "lutong-bahay."
The stop is supposed to be a coffee stop for Papa, but we ended up ordering from their "turo-turo;" Arroz Caldo for Mama & Papa, Tocino, Bacon and Rice for the us (Me, Browie, Deo & Miya Bird.)
What makes it a good stop for long road trips? Their food and other goodies for pasalubong. And they have enough restrooms for a much needed toilet breaks.

Those feet bitten by the travel bug are ready to explore
Davao Oriental, it is our family’s 27th province to explore. It was a quick trip, Sissy decided to come home over the weekend and Hot Daniel needs a long road trip.
Located on the south eastern side Mindanao, it is one of the upcoming surfing destinations in Mindanao. Davao Oriental is 8-hours trip from our home in Tupi, South Cotabato, with few stops for; breakfast, toilet break, fetches Sissy from Davao City Airport and coffee.

We leave at exactly 4:00 A.M. and arrived in Mati City past 12:00, in time for lunch. With 20 hours to explore Davao Oriental we have to make the most of our time. And our time to explore starts right away!
