Rainbow Clouds for Aurora's Kitchen Anniversary

I love baking and doing crafts. For Aurora's Kitchen 1st Anniversary, made Rainbow Clouds. I can say its my own recipe, an experiment of sort.

We see a lot of cakes, cheesecakes and cupcakes in a jar now a days, and so I did a cross between a cake and cheesecake, my very own Rainbow Clouds.
Instead of using mason jars, I used pickle relish and mayonnaise bottles. This made my Rainbow Clouds environment friendly. Bought some paper twines and raffia wrap to decorate it, and tie a wooden spoon in each Rainbow Clouds bottle.

The smiles and thank yous I got is more than enough to make it may best day ever.

Foodies in the Bus (Cebu City – Dumaguete City)

Food is an essential in our travel. Waking up at 4:00 A.M. and an early breakfast of Jollibee take-out, something to munch on the road is must.
Ready for the 4 hours bus ride
Cebu City – Dumaguete City route is one of the scenic highways to take. Old towns like Argao and Carcar are a trip back to Hispanic era. But what makes it more exciting is the food that is sold along the way. And a must try especially in Carcar are the pork chicharon and ampao. Ampao is rice crispy with a single peanut on it.

The Cebu City – Dumaguete City trip is a four hour trip with a 30 minutes ferry ride between Bato and Sibulan. Before embarking on the RORO our bus driver gave the passengers 30 minutes to eat at the “karenderias” that dotted the pier area.
Mama and her one and only son....HHWW

A meal is a must when travelling with my parents. Both have diabetes and in order to keep them from getting “hypo” a meal a necessary in all our travels. Despite our early breakfast, I forced Mama to eat, she had “sinabawang isda” and Browie had shanghai rolls.

Crossing Bato-Sibulan Strait
We reached Dumaguete City at exactly 12:00 noon. A Dumaguete adventure is now ready to start.

Vides Chicken and 7-Eleven's Slurpees behind Cebu Doctor's Hospital

Vides is the place to be for those working late as it closes at 4:00 A.M. and opens at 9:00 A.M. After having a very, very late lunch we checked in past 4:00 P.M. which is considered a late check-in already. Sleep, then Sissy wake me up past 9:00 P.M. telling me to have a dinner take out especially for our diabetic, wanderlust parents.
Sissy being our wander doctor, insist on having a dinner for the rents. And off we walked the streets of Cebu City. A few steps from Cebu City Emergency Entrance is Vides.
It looks like a sari-sari store with tables and chairs for those late nights when one look for a quick coffee boost of 3-in-1 coffee. But a big surprise awaits when Sissy told me to choose from their white board menu. Hmmm they serve Lemon Chicken, Chicken Terriyaki, Honey Glazed Chicken and the list goes on....
We ordered; Lemon Chicken, Honey Glazed Chicken and Miya had Egg and Bacon. While waiting, we went to 7-Eleven for their Yellow and Orange Slurpees.

I am hands up not just thumbs up to Vides Chicken. The best Chicken in Cebu for me. It is tender and super tasty and it comes in big cuts at a very reasonable price. It's a testament that a passionate cook will always produce great food, and that what Vides got.
Sorry that I cannot provide you with the exact location or the the street, except that it is a few steps from Cebu Doctor's Hospital emergency entrance, or the one where known eye doctor, Dr. Larrazabal, parking is located.

Sunday's Reflection: Colossians 3:23-24

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for men. Remember that the Lord will give you as a reward what he has kept for his people. For Christ is the real Master you serve. Colossians 3:23-24

It is best to start our week with God's words. The passage struck me as I listen to our pastor's sermon today. It gives us the best model of a work ethic that we as Christians should follow.
Working and knowing that every little actions you  do is for God's glory, no work will ever be difficult. Let us remember that we are here on earth to be His steward and let us become the steward God planned us to be. Be very bless!!!!

My Friend Tina Got Hitched

I am in an age when friends are either getting married or christening their kids. And this time my beautiful friend Tina got hitched to Ian. They been boyfriend-girlfriend for seven years and finally they said their "I dos" at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish in Banga, South Cotabato.

I did the cupcakes buffet for the reception, so I got the chance to explore FB Hotel while waiting for our friends to go to the church. FB Hotel is the newest and by far the best hotel in Koronadal City. FB Hotel is located in Alunan Ave., Koronadal City beside Phoenix Gasoline Station.

I say it is one of the most beautiful wedding I have attended. Because I felt and seen how Tin and Ian gave their time to be hands on  to every details of their wedding. I have to share that Tin even made the paper lace for the 5-tier cupcake stand.

I smile and pray for the new chapter in my friend's married life.

Cebu's Original Lechon Belly - A Surprise Birthday for Sissy

We are back in Cebu City for Sissy's surprise birthday. With a delayed Cebu Pacific flight, we arrived in Cebu past 2:00 P.M. I decided to just drop Papa, Mama and Browie in Parkmall to order ahead for a late lunch at Cebu's Original Lechon Belly.

Itlog and Maya Bird

It was indeed a big surprise for Sissy when we arrived at Parkmall with Mama, Papa & Browie waiting in one of the tables in Cebu's Lechon Belly stall. We ordered 1/2 a kilo of Original Lechon, 1/4 kilo of spicy lechon and 8 "puso." Browie almost finish the 1/2 kilo of the original lechon which makes it yummy that it passed our Browie's taste.

Mi' Grande Koronadal City

It's those tarps hanging in front of Mi' Grande that made me & Browie want to try it out. After Browie's first Mastery test we had lunch at Mi'Grande.
We ordered; Burger in White Sauce, Fried Chicken, Pepperoni Pizza and Mango Delight.

After lunch the only thing I got from Browie is that everything taste like what we make at home.
Mi' Grande is located along National Highway Koronadal City, beside YBL terminal.
