DUMAGUETE: Hoy Lugaw!

Rain can't stop our family from wandering around the City of Dumaguete. From the city Church Bell Tower we walked towards Rizal Boulevard. And because it was drizzling, we went to look for a place where we can have something hot to fill our tummies.

Right along Rizal Boulevard we saw Hoy Lugaw! It was as if calling or shouting at us. "here you can have something hot to fill your tummies at a very affordable price."

Hoy Lugaw! is an institution in Dumaguete based on the number of locals coming and having take-out orders. I initially ordered just a bowl of Chicken Arroz Caldo for Papa to share with Mama and a Ham and Egg for Browie.
Upon tasting it, I give in to ordering another bowl. The "caldo" is so tasty and the flavor is enhanced with a drop of calamansi juice in it.

Power Up my 2015 with Belle de Jour Power Planner

It is my 3rd year with BDJ Power Planner. Having it around me made every waking day easy. The best thing about it is the daily inspiration I read in every page.

My 2015 will be a graceful dance with my BDJ Planner.

Cheers to 20 Years of Rural Bank of Alabel Inc. (RBAI)

I am taking this post into a more personal level, than what we had last night during the anniversary. It is personal because 20 years ago my father decided to leave a job in a bank (resigns and gives his resignation paycheck as payment for his shares of stock) and join a group of of risk takers who decided to go into rural banking business. His decision keeps me thinking; how can they send us to school or will Mama's government sweldo can keep up with our family's expenses.
That was 20 years ago, but thanks to God's amazing work, RBAI went through the ups and downs, but it remained standing and strong. And will always be as challenge by Engr. Angelo Balili, Chairman & CEO, "in the next 20 years, 20 more branches in the whole of Mindanao."

Papa's next in line

Mama with our dearest Manang Pacing, for two months during the organization and approval of license by BSP, she followed-up every single day with BSP, there are times that tears flows down every time she would pass by the BSP building. Truly a pillar of RBAI

Dumaguete City

City of Dumaguete is the capital city of the province of Negros Oriental. A "university town,"because of the presence of four universities. Most famous is the Siliman University, the first Protestant university in the country.
A quick tour can be done around, it was a Sunday when we visited, museums and Sidlakang Negros were closed, we opted to take a rainy walk along Rizal Boulevard. Here are the sights and experience not to be missed when visiting Dumaguete City.
Tricycle Ride Around the city. Tricycle is the main mode of public transportation around the city.

Looking Forward to 2015

Thankful and blessed in 2014. And as I start my 2015, I pray for abundance in all aspect of my life. That it will be a year of becoming a blessing to others. In the first day of the year, I start it off by being in front of my stove, yes cooking, cooked Sardines Pasta and Oreo Nutella Cheesecake for our New Year's day lunch with family. It is also the day we are remembering our Mama Be's birth day. Mama Be's real name is Aurora, the name behind Aurora's Kitchen, she introduced us to the kitchen early on. January 1 is officially her day, it is a celebration of her life.
