Weekend DIY: Plant Vase

Changes come as we age, as I just did. In the past months I been buying home and lifestyle magazines. And spent a lot of my time in the garden.
February 7 is Granny's 79th birthday, and to prepare, I decided to put some greenery in our home.
Using discarded bottles and chocolate powder containers as water vases. I simply put blue million flowers, "sandungok" leaves and bunches of orange fruits of thorny vines from the garden. For the wine bottle I just cut some horsetails growing around Mama's garden as well....and tadaaah...

Creating beautiful things need not be expensive, all it needs is a little creativity and love.

It's All About the HEART

It is the HEART that fuels my passion for baking and business. I got into baking simply because I love being in the kitchen, patient in measuring all the ingredients and finally waiting for it to come out of the oven.
February, the LOVE month, I decided to try making sugar cookies and introduced it in Aurora's Kitchen.

It was so fun creating different designs as no two cookies get to have the same design on it. I watch different YouTube video on the different wet on wet techniques. Browie even had FUN doing his own sugar cookies design.
Within day after having it on display at Aurora's Kitchen, I got a 50 pieces order for the next day.
Finished all 50 designs before 12 midnight

My first 50 pieces sugar cookies order
HEART, LOVE and FUN became my formula for a sugar cookies business.

Dumaguete City: Sans Rival Cakes & Pastries

My sister got only one wish for her birthday, Sans Rival and Silvanas of Dumaguete, and since we were in Cebu for her birthday, we just have to grant her wish.
We went through the 5 hours of travel to buy our special gift. Finding Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries shop is easy. Located along Rizal Boulevard, the blue and white building transports you to Greece in a way. When we got there, a long line of patrons and first timers were all excited to get these sweet treats, that becomes synonymous to Dumaguete City.

Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries has been baking these quality treats since 1977. And as I take my first bite in it, I knew right away the answers to my "whys and hows." It is deliciously crunchy with the right level and sweetness in every bite.

Dumaguete City: Lab-as

Asked around for a place to have lunch in Dumaguete City and everyone pointed us to the bay walk area. Lab-as is one of the many food establishments lining as you round the main highway of Dumaguete City in the bay area.

As we enter Lab-as, I knew right away we were at one of the local food place in the city. It was a Sunday, and we saw a lot of big groups (mostly families) having their Sunday lunch.

We ordered; Crispy Soft Shrimp, Buttered Chicken and Chili Crabs. Lab-as food stays true to its name, the seafood were prepared fresh, by the sweetness of the crabs and shrimps we had.

Our Lab-as lunch opens our taste buds to more food experience around Dumaguete city.

GO Hotel & Robinson's Place Dumaguete

GO Hotel is our place of choice for a one night stay in Dumaguete City. Located at Calindagan corner South Road, Dumaguete Central Business District. It is located within Robinson's Place, finding a place to eat is easy, but during visit we opted to dine at local or home grown restaurants.
After an afternoon of walking around the city, Browie and I decided to explore a little of Robinson's. We came around a small cupcake stall, selling micro-mini cupcakes, being curious foodies, we tried their 3 variant micro-mini cupcakes (oreo, quadrantine & snickers.)

We left for Cebu City very early, catching up the 5:00 A.M. trip of Ceres Bus to Cebu City.
