Mimbalut Falls is one of the 39 amazing waterfalls in Iligan City. And one of the easiest to access. From the Macaraeg-Macapagal Ancestral House, we were supposed to go to Maria Cristina Falls but according to Kuya Guard/Tour Guide, it is closed to public for security reason due to the recent Davao City Bombing.
Mimbalut Falls is about 500 meters from the National Highway, making it the most accessible waterfalls in Iligan City. If coming from Iligan City, once you reach Brgy. Buru-un, look for the overpass and Miguel Canoy Memorial School. Then turn right to a narrow rough road that will lead you right to the majestic waterfalls of Mimbalut. There is a Php50.00 entrance fee, which is a must to pay because it helps in maintaining the area.
There is something about waterfalls that amazes me, everytime I stand before it. I can see its power and strength but then inside I feel calmness and peace.
