Ate Nene’s Day Off & Congo Grille Lunch

with the Ate Nene
Ate Nene has been part of my blog for a time, she comes with us in family road trips when the time permits. Time permits mean when task at home are so menial and does not need her supervision. She has been with our family for 17 years, and we are so blessed that because of her we can take family vacations for weeks without having to worry about the farm, the backyard piggery and Aurora’s Kitchen.
I find it very timely to take her to a day off from her daily tasks and have the time to relax and eat out, before Christmas and New Years’ orders come. After our morning tasks at home, we went straight to General Santos City.
Find me.......buying baking supplies
The best thing about Ate Nene is she loves us like her family especially with our brother who grew up having her around. Browie can joke with her and even make her spend for his toy collections. Last Christmas, he was able to convince Ate Nene to buy him a CAT heavy equipment collectible that cost a week’s pay. She just laugh about it, because Browie promised her that when she grows old she will still stay with him even when his married and has a family. This year the first agenda of my brother is to bring Ate Nene to Toy Kingdom, and again she bought him 3 Star Wars Edition of Tomica.
We had our lunch at Congo Grille. For lunch we had; Crispy Soft-shelled Crablets and the Tribal Feast B for Php 659.00 that includes Sizzling  Sisig Kapampangan, Chicken in Pandan Leaves & Sinigang na Baboy and 4 cups of Plain rice. Food taste very delicious. It’s the kind of food one would love to have at home. The Sinigang na Baboy is stand out for me, it got that “sarap-asim” that makes you take another sip after another of its soup. This is the kind of meal and service that make ones money worth every cent. Serving sizes are for sharing, ours is part of their group meal that’s good for 3-4 persons.

Taking time out from our daily tasks is a must for a busy soul like our Ate Nene. It is also way of showing her how grateful we are for the service she gave to our family. I am praying for 2018 to have more days off with our Ate Nene.
Congo Grille is located at the Ground Floor of Al Fresco Fountain Area oF SM General Santos City, near the entrance.
